Questions
The things people ask before they sign up. If yours is not here, write to us.
- What is Weeksort?
- Scheduling software for a workplace that builds its own week. A manager sets up positions, qualifications and hour rules, draws the shifts, assigns people — with warnings where a rule would be broken — and publishes. Staff sign in to see their shifts and to say when they can work.
- What does it cost?
- One subscription per workplace, priced by how many active employees you have, monthly or yearly. The pricing page carries the current ladder; every figure on it is read from our live price list rather than typed.
- Is there a free trial?
- Every new workplace gets its first 30 days free. We ask for a card to start the trial and take nothing from the card until the free period ends. Turn automatic renewal off from your billing screen before it ends and you are never charged at all.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, from the billing screen inside the product, without writing to anybody. A charge is also refundable in full on request within fourteen days, no reason needed.
- What happens if a subscription ends?
- A workplace that was running stays fully usable for another forty-eight hours, so a lapse never interrupts a week half way through, and then it becomes read-only. Nothing is charged for those two days and your data is not deleted.
- Is this an attendance or payroll system?
- No, and deliberately not. Weeksort records who is scheduled to work. It does not clock anybody in or out, it does not calculate pay, and it is not your statutory record of hours worked. Keep those where your law says to keep them.
- Which languages is it in?
- Twelve: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Hebrew. Arabic and Hebrew are laid out right to left. Each person picks their own, so one workplace can read the same schedule in four languages.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. It is a website built for phones as well as laptops, and it can be installed to a home screen so it opens like anything else on the device. There is nothing to download from a store.
- Do my staff need their own accounts?
- Yes, one account each, because each person files their own preferences and sees their own shifts. Invite them by email, or give them the workplace's join code — there is a printable poster with a QR code on it — and approve the people who ask to join.
- Who can do what?
- Three roles. The chief manager owns the workplace and is the only one who can make somebody else a manager. Managers build schedules and manage people. Staff see their own schedule, file preferences, ask for time off and offer swaps.
- Does it build the schedule for me?
- It will offer to. Auto-assign fills every open slot without breaking a hard rule — eligibility, a refusal, double booking, your hour limits — favours what people asked for and balances hours. Then it shows you the proposal, including what it could not fill and why, and nothing is saved until you commit it.
- What counts as an employee for the price?
- Someone who is active on the roster: they can be given shifts and they receive the published schedule. People who have left stay in past schedules and never count towards the price.
- Where is our data, and can we take it out?
- On Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt, Germany, inside the EU. Schedules and reports export to a spreadsheet at any time, and anybody can download their own copy of everything held about them. Deleting a whole workplace is a written request rather than a button: a manager asks us from an address on the account and we finish it within thirty days.
- Who takes the payment?
- Polar, as the merchant of record. Cards, invoices and receipts live with Polar, and no card detail ever reaches Weeksort. Any tax due where you are is theirs to calculate and collect, and the total is shown before anything is paid.
- Is tax included?
- Yes, in every country. The price on the pricing page is the price you pay: any VAT, GST or sales tax Polar collects where you are is already inside it, and Polar, the merchant of record, works it out and pays it from that price. A business that enters a valid VAT number at checkout pays the same price, with nothing added.
