Approve requests

Everything anybody asks you for arrives in one of three places, with the dates, the reason and who is asking. Approving is what changes the schedule.

Who this is for
A manager or the chief manager, on the website or on the phone.

Step by step

  1. Time off

Time Off lists your team's leave requests with their dates and any reason they gave. Approving keeps those dates off the schedule; denying can carry a note the person reads. You can also enter leave that was already agreed elsewhere, so the week is built around it.

  2. Shift requests

Requests lists people asking to pick up a shift, to give one up, to hand one over or to trade. Approving applies the change to the schedule for you. A trade the other person has not agreed to yet cannot be approved.

  3. People asking to join

Join requests lists everybody who used the workplace's code. Approving creates their staff account, and denying leaves them out.

  4. Decide how much you want to see

Shift handover has three settings: off, you approve every one, or staff arrange it between themselves. The last one still tells you what happened afterwards.

  5. Be told, or not

Two switches of your own: one tells you when somebody knocks, asks for time off or files a request about a shift; the other tells you when a request moves — a colleague accepting a trade, or a handover completing on its own.

What the person hears

Everybody is told the answer to their own request, with your note attached if you wrote one, through the channels they have left switched on.
