Ask for time off

A request is dates, and optionally a reason. It joins one queue with everybody else's, which is what lets your manager see two people asking for the same day.

Who this is for
Anybody on a roster. Works on a phone.

Step by step

  1. Open your requests

Request time off, on your own requests screen. Everything you have asked for is listed underneath it with its status.

  2. Give the dates

A first day and a last day. A reason is optional, and if you give one your manager reads it with the request rather than having to ask you for it.

  3. Send it

Send request. It joins your manager's queue alongside everybody else's, with its dates and its reason, and waits for a decision.

  4. Follow it, or take it back

Your own requests are listed with their status. One that has not been answered yet can be cancelled.

  5. Read the answer

You are told when it is approved or turned down, with your manager's note if they left one, through the channels you have left switched on.

Approved leave and the schedule

Approved dates are blocked for scheduling, so the week is built around them. A request filed after a week has been published does not move the shifts you already have — your manager does that.
