Shift schedule (rota)
A shift schedule — a rota, in British English — is the plan of who works which shift over a stretch of days, usually one week. For every person on it, it names the day, the hours and the position they are working.
Why it matters in a small workplace
The schedule is the one document everybody reads and only one person writes. When it is wrong somebody either comes in for nothing or does not come in at all, and both of those cost a shift that cannot be got back.
How Weeksort handles it
Weeksort builds one week at a time. A week starts as a draft, opens so staff can say what they want, locks while the manager assigns, and is published when it is ready to be read — and the week your team sees is only ever the published one.
